Who Batch Bench is for

Batch Bench is an independent guide for owners and quality leads of small supplement, cosmetics and food brands, and small co-packers, who are moving from spreadsheets and paper to batch records because of FDA 21 CFR part 111, the cosmetics law MoCRA, food safety rules or a retailer's request for records. It asks whether you need batch record software yet, what the plans look like, and which tier or rival fits a small maker. Everything is read from vendor pages, help articles and terms, plus FDA and eCFR text, dated November 1, 2026. Start with the BatchBuddy review or go straight to the master manufacturing record template.

Field note

Where BatchBuddy fits and where it does not

BatchBuddy is cloud software that links formulas, lots, production steps and quality records, sold as four plans with a free trial. Its plan cards place electronic batch records on the third plan, though other vendor pages list them lower, so confirm the plan before you buy. The pricing guide shows what each tier holds, and BatchBuddy vs InstantGMP sets it beside a modular rival.

Field note

Check the record rules before you buy software

The dietary supplement rule requires master and batch records but names no software, and electronic records must meet part 11. The supplement batch record software guide sorts paper, spreadsheets and six software routes by what each bills and holds, and says where none is needed yet. ISO 22716 is a paid standard, so these guides cite FDA's own text and name the standard only where a vendor does.

Field note

How these pages are sourced

Plan facts come from each vendor's own pages and are dated, because plans, tiers and terms change. Where a vendor page is silent or its pages disagree, the guide says so. Vendor figures and customer claims are the vendors' own and are labeled that way, in line with the FTC's endorsement guides. Amounts stay on the vendors' live pages and are not repeated here. These guides are general information, not legal or regulatory advice, and your obligations depend on your products and facility.

Evidence strength

Read from the vendor, dated, with limits stated.

Every plan fact is dated and linked to the vendor page it came from.
